Parent Helpers

As a professional learning community Mother Teresa Catholic Primary School values the partnership with all members of our community. The role of parents in partnership with staff to ensure authentic learning opportunities through our parent helpers program is one way in which this partnership is visible.

The partnership with parents in learning is essential in the building of a successful learning community. Parents and caregivers are skilled in many different ways. The sharing of these skills enhances the learning opportunities for our children.

Parents are invited and encouraged to participate in our learning community through being a parent helper. Parent helpers assist with key learning areas such as literacy and numeracy. The skills of Parent helpers are also evident in sharing information related to children’s personalised inquiries, and assistance in the Kitchen Garden program through cooking or gardening.

Parent helpers are reminded of the requirements and confidentialities associated with working alongside staff and children. All Parents helpers require a Working with Children Check.

If you would like to be a Parent helper take a moment to read our Parent helper policy and contact your child’s Learning Studio Contact teacher to register your interest.
