The MACS Vision for Engagement works hand in hand with our Vision for Instruction. Where the Vision for Instruction focuses on what we teach and how we teach it, the Vision for Engagement focuses on the conditions essential for learning. It is a commitment to nurturing calm, respectful and inclusive classrooms where every student can thrive academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
At our school, this means classrooms where calm is the norm, routines are consistent and expectations are shared. Our engagement practices centre on teaching respectful behaviour, fostering belonging, focusing on attendance, promoting mental health and wellbeing, enabling motivation and targeting individual learning needs. We also value strong partnerships between school and family, working together so that every child feels safe, known and ready to learn. Both visions reflect our belief that every child is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and given the best opportunity to flourish.
