At Mother Teresa, we believe every child learns best when they have the chance to explore, create and discover in many different ways. Alongside the classroom curriculum, all students take part in four specialist programs, each taught by dedicated specialist teachers.
Digital Technology
Digital Technology gives students the skills and confidence to thrive in a digital world. Through hands-on activities in coding,
robotics and problem-solving, students learn to think logically, work creatively and use technology safely and responsibly.
The Arts
Visual Arts encourages students to express their ideas and imagination through drawing, painting, sculpture and more. Students explore a wide range of materials and techniques while learning to appreciate art from different times and cultures. Each year, their creativity takes centre stage at our annual Art Show, where every student’s work is proudly displayed for families and the community to enjoy.
Performing Arts brings movement, rhythm and self-expression into our students’ learning. Each year, we partner with STOMP Dance Co to deliver an engaging dance program for all students. Led by experienced dance instructors, students learn new styles and routines while building coordination, confidence and teamwork, and above all, they have fun moving and performing together.
Japanese
Japanese opens a window to another language and culture. Students develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills while exploring Japanese traditions, celebrations and everyday life, building curiosity and respect for the wider world.
Physical Education
Physical Education promotes healthy, active lifestyles. Students build fundamental movement skills, teamwork and sportsmanship through a variety of games, sports and fitness activities, with opportunities to take part in school carnivals and sport gala days.
Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program (SAKG)
The SAKG connects students with where their food comes from. Through hands-on sessions in our garden and kitchen, students grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal food. Along the way, they learn practical gardening and cooking skills, try new flavours and develop positive, lifelong habits around healthy eating. Sharing the meals they’ve prepared together also builds teamwork, responsibility and a real sense of community.
Specialist Showcase
Our yearly Specialist Showcase is a highlight of the school calendar. It’s a chance for students to share what they’ve been learning across all four specialist areas, from coding projects and artworks to Japanese performances and physical activities. Families are warmly invited to come along and celebrate our students’ achievements.
Together, our specialist programs help every student discover new passions, build confidence and develop as well-rounded learners.
