Knowledge Rich

At Mother Teresa, we are committed to delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum that ensures every student builds a strong foundation for lifelong learning. We believe that knowledge should be explicitly taught, carefully sequenced, and revisited over time so that it is remembered, not just encountered, and applied with confidence.

Guided by the Vision for Instruction as well as evidence-based practices, we recognise that exposure to a broad range of curriculum knowledge supports students to connect, understand, and retain new learning.

Our curriculum is coherently sequenced and cumulative, designed to build knowledge in students’ long-term memory through regular review, retrieval, and practice. Research shows that exposure to a wide range of knowledge, and developing deep knowledge underpins reading comprehension, critical thinking, and genuine understanding. All students deserve equitable access to this shared knowledge that is built upon across a child’s learning journey at our school.

Through clear instruction, guided practice, and a strong focus on retention, we empower our students to become confident, capable learners – equipped with the knowledge they need to thrive academically, socially, and beyond the classroom.
